BFA Graphic Design Invitation

This invitation was selected by peer to represent the graduating BFA Graphic Design class online exhibition. 1,500 copies were printed and handed out to people to encourage visits to the website showcasing all the students’ work. The website is also based on the invitation design. My inspiration was the solar system and the sun. I wanted to evoke outer space somehow without making it too obvious to the viewer, but rather have them figure it out on their own. That is why the letters are portrayed in 3D as if a harsh light was hitting them. The gradients were inspired by the colors of the planets.
